Color Gamuts

What you see is not what you get

  • each color space has limitations for which colors can be created
  • Lab Mode (A) most closely reproduces all of the visible colors
  • RGB Mode (B) can reproduce many colors but does lack some of the yellows and greens and is heavy on the amount of blues.
  • CYMK (C) is the most limited. Unable to produce many shades of blue and green. Keep in mind that CYMK images will usually look darker and less colorful than the RGB image looks on the monitor.
  • You can preview what your image will look like in CYMK while you work in RGB through the View>Gamut Warning menu
