Window and Image Manipulation

Image Window

  • Image size information
    • listed with the flattened image size first.
    • the second number is how much memory it is actually taking up while running the program (useful when you are working with large images).

Image Magnification

Magnification most often accomplished with the zoom tool
  • keyboard equivalent (Z)
  • pressing option zooms out
  • most often accessed while using other tools with command-space to zoom in or command-option-space to zoom out

Other ways to control magnification

  • manually enter percentage in the left lower corner of image window
  • Navigation palette
    • use mountains
      • nice because it goes in standard increments which displays the image better
    • enter percentage
    • you can move to different areas with red square in the navigation palette
